As a successful winter season in Geneseo athletics begins its final descent, six of the Knights’ teams entered the week among the top programs in the latest NCAA Division III rankings.

Men’s and Women’s Track & Field

According to the most recent United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association poll, the Geneseo women rank 23rd,  while the men stand 29th. So far this season, 11 Knights have recorded marks that rank among the nation’s top 25 in 14 different events, led by six-time All-American Isaac Garcia-Cassani ’18, who posted the third-fastest time in the mile, as well as three-time All-American Alexa Wandy '17, who owns the nation’s second-best triple jump.

Men’s and Women's Swimming & Diving

The College Swimming Coaches Association of America has ranked both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs in their respective top-25 polls as well. The men rank 20th, while the women rank 21st. Both teams have posted identical 7-2 dual meet records this season, including a victory over Division I Canisius College by the men and a victory over nationally-ranked University of Rochester by the women.

Women’s Basketball

Geneseo  entered the week as one of only five unbeaten teams in Division III, compiling a 21-0 record entering Friday’s contest at SUNY Oneonta. The incredible run marks the program’s second-longest winning streak, trailing only the 1992-93 squad that posted 27 consecutive victories. Currently ranked 18th according to this week’s D3hoops.com Top-25 poll, the Knights own the seventh-ranked defense in NCAA Division III, allowing opponents just 47.2 points per game.

Men’s Ice Hockey

Geneseo has posted a 14-4-3 record this season on its way to being ranked No. 6 by both D3hockey.com and United States College Hockey Online (USCHO.com). The Knights boast the nation’s top scoring attack, averaging 4.95 goals per game, while forward Stephen Collins ’17 ranks second in the nation in total points (39) as well as fourth in assists (23).
