In earlier competition, both the men's and women's team won the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships, the first time both the men and women's team won the Atlantic Regional in the same year. Geneseo is only the third team ever to win both titles in the same year. Geneseo’s women’s cross-country team has won the NCAA regional championship eight times, including five successive years from 2004 – 2008, and the men’s team has won it three times.
