GENESEO, N.Y. – Sponsored by French Club, the Department of Languages & Literatures, Office of the Provost and Office of Multicultural Programs & Services, National French Week at Geneseo will feature a variety of engaging Francophone-centric events from Nov. 9-13.
Many events are free and open to the public:
Nov. 9, 5:30 p.m., Newton 204
Film screening and discussion with University of Florida professor of Jewish Studies, filmmaker Dragan Kujundzic, of Frozen Time, Liquid Memories: 1942-2012.
Nov. 10, 5:30 p.m., ISC 115
University of Florida associate professor of French and Franchophone literature specialist Brigitte Weltman-Aron will present her lecture and discussion: “War in the Work of Assia Djebar.” The discussion will focus on Weltman-Aron’s work in the North African Maghreb region.
Nov. 11, 5:30 p.m., Welles 115
Study abroad presentations from students who have recently studied in a Franchophone country.
Nov. 12, 7 p.m., Newton 204
A French spelling bee will be hosted.
Nov. 13, Aladdin’s – 200 Park Point Drive, Rochester, NY
A group dinner will be held at Aladdin’s restaurant in Rochester. Dinner has limited seating and reservations are required.
