SUNY Geneseo has purchased an Enhanced Institutional Membership to the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). This membership will allow all SUNY Geneseo faculty and staff members to join CUR at no additional cost. Instructions for joining.
CUR is a national organization representing over 900 colleges and universities whose mission is to support and promote high-quality undergraduate student-faculty collaborative research and scholarship. While traditionally focused on the sciences, CUR has recently expanded its initiatives to support undergraduate research in the humanities and social sciences. CUR's leadership works with agencies and foundations to enhance research opportunities for faculty and students. CUR also provides support for faculty development and its publications and outreach activities are designed to share successful models and strategies for establishing and institutionalizing undergraduate research programs.
Among other benefits, membership in CUR will provide each SUNY Geneseo registrant with an electronic subscription to the CUR Quarterly, featuring news and information about undergraduate research activities at other schools, descriptions of research funding available from federal and foundation sources, and feature articles on undergraduate research. Members are also encouraged to submit articles to the Quarterly for consideration by the editors. Geneseo faculty and staff will find membership in CUR to be a valuable resource, particularly in reflection of our ongoing College-wide initiative to advance collaborative research and scholarship.
