Sociocultural Mediator in Spanish
Learning Outcomes
Spanish ICM encourages students to build bridges with the target population by being aware of and knowing how to navigate language barriers, cultures, and differences.
This microcredential is intended to promote global awareness, cross-cultural communication and understanding, as well as leadership among students, teaching them how to work effectively in a pluralistic society.
This microcredential provides students with a theoretical and practical background in Spanish to enable sociocultural mediation.
Students will complete 12 credits composed of basic requirements (SPAN 301, SPAN 335, and one transformational integrative experience), one elective course (3-4 credits), and one culminating self-reflective experience (non-credit bearing).
