Stacey Colt, Appointment and Compensation Manager

On October 18, 2023, Stacy Colt, Appointment and Compensation Manager, in the Human Resources and Payroll Services Department at Geneseo, was awarded the Outstanding Service Award by the SUNY Human Resources Association (SUHRA). This award recognizes Human Resources practitioners who consistently demonstrate excellence in their position that results in outstanding contributions, exceeds goals and job expectations, and has a significant impact on their campus.

As part of this nomination, four letters of support from administrators across the Geneseo campus provided firsthand testimony of the contributions and high level of service that Stacy provides to her customers. She has an amazing ability to work proactively and effectively with the managers and administrative assistants who handle personnel related processes and paperwork across our campus. She does her work, consistently, with extreme competence, and always with our employee's best interests in mind.

During this past year, Stacy worked tirelessly with the HR team and key administrators to set up electronic workflow of the campus personnel appointment process. This included forms completion, appointment authorization, and issuance of appointment letters and related materials using electronic signatures and approvals. These changes significantly streamlined this complex process and reduced time to issue and secure an accepted appointment. Stacy always puts the employees and her coworkers first. She takes personal responsibility and pride in ensuring employees, hiring managers and departments have the information they need to expedite personnel actions, which is evidenced in everything she does.
