GERM 101: Elementary German I
Introduces the structure and sound of the target language. Develops the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Culture-based readings and collateral laboratory assignments. This course is designed for the student who has never studied the language before. In general, students who have a one-year high school equivalency may repeat this course, but for no credit. GERM 201: L/Intermediate German I
Reviews the fundamentals of structure and continues to develop the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Oral and written exercises are included. Reading materials emphasize cultural and contemporary topics. Prerequisites: GERM 102 or its equivalent. Offered every fall
