Fall Honors Recital Sept. 26 to Feature Student Excellence

Geneseo’s annual fall Honors Recital will take place Sept. 26 at 3 p.m. in Doty Recital Hall. The concert will feature classical pieces performed by flutist Megan Martel; sopranos Francesca DiGiorgio and Brianna Kelly, and French hornist Katherine Zaslavsky. Also performing are saxophonist Alec Friedman, cellist Harrison Hartsough, and pianists Shiho Azuma and Xiangjing Chen.

Faculty Recital Sept. 11 to Focus on Modern Music by Women Composers

Polish-born composer and pianist Beata Golec––a Geneseo adjunct lecturer in music––will perform in “The Color of Emotions” faculty recital on Sept. 11 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Doty Recital Hall. Rebeca Boyd, a violinist and Eastman Community Music School teacher that Golec has collaborated with previously, will assist her in the concert.

SUNY Geneseo Fifth Nationally in ‘Washington Monthly’ 2015 Rankings

Washington Monthly magazine has ranked SUNY Geneseo fifth overall among the nation’s master’s 673 universities for its contribution to the public good across three broad categories: social mobility, research and civic engagement, and promoting an ethic of service to country. It’s the third year in a row that Geneseo has been in the top five schools in the rankings.
