CNN's Keith Boykin to Deliver Diversity Summit Keynote

SUNY Geneseo welcomes CNN political commentator and New York Times best-selling author Keith Boykin, who will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Diversity Summit. This year’s theme is “Our journey from inclusion to belonging.” The day-long summit, part of the college's 150th anniversary celebration, takes place on Wednesday, February 16.

Boykin’s keynote will be held in the MacVittie College Union Ballroom, 1–2:15 p.m. Light refreshments will be available. It will also be live-streamed. Immediately following the keynote, there will be a meet & greet and book signing by Boykin in the Kinetic Gallery. Boyknin's latest book, Race Against Time: The Politics of a Darkening America, is available for purchase in the college's bookstore. The summit’s concurrent sessions will be held in Bailey Hall, Doty Recital Hall and virtually, 9 a.m.–12:45 p.m., and 3–6 p.m. The sessions and keynote are free and open to the public. Please note that SUNY Geneseo requires masks in all buildings at SUNY Geneseo.

In addition to his work with CNN, Boykin teaches at the Institute for Research in African-American Studies at Columbia University in New York City and previously taught at American University in Washington, D.C. He is a co-founder and first board president of the National Black Justice Coalition. A graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School, Boykin is a Lambda Literary Award-winning author of four books. His latest book, Race Against Time: The Politics of a Darkening America, was published by Bold Type Books in 2021.
