SUNY Geneseo has again made several of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges lists.

The College ranked third in the “Top Public Schools” in the North, retaining the same high rank earned in 2020 and 2021.

Geneseo also ranked second in the regional North "Best Undergraduate Teaching" category, up from a fourth-place ranking in 2021. U.S. News selects the “Best Undergraduate Teaching” colleges through data collected from college presidents, provosts, and admissions deans at peer institutions within their region who identified schools where the faculty demonstrated an unusually strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.

The College also earned the following regional rankings:

  • #14 Most Innovative Schools (Regional North)
  • #16 Best Regional Universities (North)
  • #59 Best Value School (Regional North)
  • A+ Schools for B students (Regional North)
  • #95 Top Performers on Social Mobility (tie, National)

U.S. News bases its list on several categories: graduation and retention, graduation rate performance, graduate indebtedness, social mobility, faculty resources, expert opinion, financial resources, student excellence, and alumni giving.

This year’s rankings and information will be published in the 2021 edition of the “Best Colleges” guidebook in October. In addition to the U.S. News & World Report’s lists, Geneseo was recently named a 2022 Best College by The Princeton Review and earned several places on Washington Monthly’s lists.
