SUNY Geneseo Hits Top 5% in Washington Monthly Ranking

SUNY Geneseo has placed in the top five percent—ranking 76th out of more than 1,500 colleges and universities nationwide—in Washington Monthly’s 2026 Best Colleges for Your Tuition (and Tax) Dollars ranking, making it the top-performing SUNY institution. 

The magazine ranks schools based on their contribution to the public good in four broad categories: access, affordability, outcomes, and promoting public service.

Washington Monthly is a nonprofit magazine sponsored in part by the Lumina Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Foundation for Civic Leadership, and the Strada Education Foundation. The magazine has published its rankings since 2005.
