I'm currently retired after a career that was centered on communications and marketing, with a side channel in governance. My Geneseo studies in Sociology gave me the abilities to apply demography, statistical analysis, urban studies and economic stratification into a career path that included broadcasting, publishing, finance, professional sports marketing, advertising, public relations and public affairs.
In addition, I served three terms as a Planning Commissioner, two terms as a city councilmember and a stint as mayor of my small city. I was also able to engage in issue advocacy at the state and federal levels. While the Sociology major provided an excellent core, other courses at Geneseo in communications and history/government were of great additional value.
