  • Volunteer Opportunities: Two homes in Geneseo for adults and children with disabilities need volunteers for one-on-one visits, weekend recreation programs and outing to professional baseball and football games. Short term projects, helping with events, fundraising, serving on a committee.

  • Program Description: Uses the power of friendship to improve the quality of life and assist in the rehabilitation and support of refeered adults receiving mental health care.

Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities Service Office (DDSO)

  • Program Description: To provide quality services to individuals with developmental disabilities that promote independence, inclusion, and productivity.

Respite Volunteer at Heritage Christian Services

  • Program Description: Matches volunteers with family members diagnosed with a developmental disability.

  • Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers give 2-3 hours a week, offering the care giver a break. Volunteers are trained: all one needs to begin is patience and the desire to help others.

Special Olympics

  • Program Description: Every Thursday from 7:00-8:30pm, volunteers go to the Genesee Country Christian School on Long Point Road to work with adolescents and adults with special needs. Volunteers help run different stations (floor hockey in the fall and basketball in the spring). Please contact Karen (information below) to find out more (including transportation, etc.).
