* May be restricted to students in particular major or minor programs

** Requires a separate application process

Some courses have prerequisites that GSWS students may not have completed. In such cases, you might contact the faculty member teaching a course to inquire about whether an override is possible.

NOTE:

  • Note that many courses on the list have prerequisites. If you do not meet the prerequisite, you might contact the instructor and inquire about whether you could take the course for WGST purposes without having the prereq. Though note that the answer may be “no”.
  • Also, in some cases the above courses devote only a portion (usually about 30% or more) of the course material to gender and/or sexuality specifically, but many allow students to make choices about the focus of one or more assignments. If you are using a course in another program or department for WGST credit and the course has only partial focus on women, gender, and/or sexuality, then you should opt to focus a major assignment on one or those topics when possible.

Please email Amanda Roth to add a class to this list or with any questions.
