Find the Detectors

  NOTE:  The detectors were removed from Letchworth State Park on September 30, 2020.  This site shows were the detectors were located.

The map below shows the approximate location of the ten detectors.

• From July 13, 2020 to mid-September there will be ten muon detectors in the Park:
  • Detectors 1 and 2 are near the Upper Falls (on trees along the path)
  • Detector 3 is on the trail between the Middle Falls and Upper Falls (on a tree)
  • Detectors 4 and 5 are near the Middle Falls (one on the rest room and one on a tree)
  • Detector 6 is at Inspiration Point (on a lamp post)
  • Detectors 7 and 8 are at the Humphrey Nature Center (one on a lamp post and one on the Hemlock Loop Trail_
  • Detector 9 is at Wolf Creek (on a sign post)
  • Detector 10 is at the Mt Morris Dam Overlook (on a sign)
