
Rachel Laber Pulvino '10
New York Governor Kathy Hochul has appointed Rachel Laber Pulvino ’10 to the SUNY Geneseo College Council for a term expiring June 30, 2029.
A Geneseo alum, Laber Pulvino is vice president of communications at Visit Rochester, where she leads the organization’s brand messaging, public relations, and communications strategy to promote Rochester as a premier travel destination. Prior to joining Visit Rochester, she held key communications roles at Dixon Schwabl Advertising in Rochester and Marina Maher Communications in New York City, where she worked on national campaigns for nonprofit, consumer, and telecommunications clients.
Laber Pulvino is an active leader in the Greater Rochester community and serves on the boards of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Rochester; Partnership for Downtown Rochester; Public Relations Society of America Travel & Tourism Section; and the Finger Lakes Regional Tourism Council. She also serves on the SUNY Geneseo Alumni Association Board of Directors and contributes to several committees of the Public Relations Society of America—Rochester Chapter. A 2022 recipient of the Rochester Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award, Laber Pulvino was also recognized by the New York State Tourism Industry Association with its Young Professional Leadership Award in 2018.
She earned a bachelor of arts in communication (journalism and media studies) with minors in psychology and dance from SUNY Geneseo, and a master’s in public relations from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

The College Council, established under New York State Education Law, serves as an advisory and oversight body for the College, with responsibilities that include recommending candidates for president, reviewing major plans and policies, and fostering strong connections between the College and the community.
