Christian Wightman, MD, is SUNY Geneseo's new medical director for Student Health and Counseling.

Dr. Wightman comes to the College from Tri-County Family Medicine in Nunda, NY, where he served as the medical director for six years and practiced primary care medicine for over a decade. Wightman is also the medical director of Livingston County Hospice, which provides humane, patient-centered, and family-centered care to persons at the end of life.

Wightman earned his bachelor of science in biochemistry from Binghamton University and his doctor of medicine from Upstate Medical University College of Medicine. He completed residency training at Highland Hospital in Rochester.

"I took this position at Geneseo because I was excited to be able to give holistic care to students right where they live and learn," Wightman said. "With Student Health and Counseling housed in the same building at Geneseo, there are great opportunities for collaboration that aren't available in other environments."
