Institutional Policy Procedures
To ensure that all institutional policies support the mission and values of the College, SUNY Geneseo provides all campus constituencies with clear guidelines for policy development, approval, and implementation, and the criteria and standards that apply across the institution. This information is outlined in the Policy on Policies 1-006.
Institutional Policy Template
All institutional policies should use the Institutional Policy Template.
Institutional policies include the following:
- Academic Policies
- Administrative Policies
- College Policies
- Department or School Policies
- Foundation Board Policies
- Governance Policies
- Student Policies
Requesting a New College Policy
- All new policy requests must be submitted to the responsible officer using the Institutional Policy Template
- A copy of the Request for New or Revised College Policy Form must be attached to the policy
Requesting a Revision to a College Policy
- All revised policy requests must be submitted to the responsible officer
- A copy of the original policy should be included
- A copy of the policy including revisions shown in "RED" font using the Institutional Policy Template
- A copy of the Request for New or Revised College Policy Form must be attached to the policy
