Sustainability Projects and Initiatives
The garden is a one-acre, off-grid education and research facility on the west side of campus that focuses on renewable energy, organic agriculture and sustainable organic waste management.
A number of buildings on campus have geothermal well field systems providing heating and cooling, such as Monroe Residence Hall, Seneca Residence Hall, and Letchworth Dining Hall.
The Spencer J. Roemer Arboretum's mission is to encourage both the students of SUNY Geneseo and the Geneseo community to understand, enjoy, and preserve the natural world. The Arboretum provides opportunities to bring together members of both the SUNY Geneseo and Village of Geneseo communities to interactively experience the benefits provided by this centrally-located, natural heritage.
