Dentistry 4+4 with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine

Want to gain early acceptance to dental school?

A partnership with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Dental Medicine facilitates early admission and guarantees SUNY Geneseo five spots in each year’s student cohort to qualified students. A student may apply to LECOM as a high school senior or up until completion of junior year at SUNY Geneseo. Based on a successful interview with LECOM staff, students will be offered provisional admission to LECOM.

LECOM offers the DDM degree through a full-time, four-year pathway with the first three years at the Bradenton, FL, campus and the fourth year either at the Erie, PA, or DeFuniak Springs, FL, dental clinics.

  • Eligible majors: A biological or physical science most aligned with LECOM prerequisites — Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics (if the major is offered as a BS, students must pursue the BS)
  • GPA requirements:
    • 3.4 overall, with 3.2 in science courses after 30 credits
    • SAT 1240+ or ACT 26+
    • High school applicants: unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Application steps:
    • Apply as a rising high school senior, before earning 65 college credits
    • Apply through the LECOM portal; interview required
    • Complete a minimum of 60 credits at Geneseo
    • Download the EAP Student Policy Manual from the LECOM application portal

Requirements are subject to change. Confirm current GPA and application requirements with the program’s faculty coordinator and partner institution admissions contact before advising a student.
