How to accept your offer of admission

To accept your place in the class, please return to your Application Status Page and complete the “Reply to Offer of Admission.”

After you choose the option I ACCEPT my offer, your option to pay your deposit will then be available to you. Please submit your enrollment deposit no later than May 1, 2023.

How to submit your enrollment deposit:

1. Access the Application Status Portal

  1. Visit the Application Status Portal. A username and pin was provided to you within your “Congratulations!” email. You’ll need both in order to log in.
    • If you cannot access this email, please contact our admissions office to better assist you in this process.

2. Pay your deposit:

a. All deposits will be paid online through the application status portal!
b. Once you have logged in to your portal, please choose the option I ACCEPT my offer, and you will then be prompted to pay your deposit online.
c. Submit your $150 enrollment deposit.

  1. Regular Decision deposit deadline is May 1, 2023. Please note Regular decision includes EOP.

3. Create your myGeneseo Account

a. After you submit your deposit, you will receive a follow up email within 24-48 hours directing you to set-up your myGeneseo Account. Within your myGeneseo Account you will be able to access the following:

  1. Set-up your Geneseo Student Email
  2. Access your KnightWeb Student Portal
    1. Make sure to have your User ID and PIN ready to log in!
    2. This is where you’ll view your Financial Aid Package

4. Viewing your Financial Aid Package:

a. Once our Financial Aid Office provides your package, you will be sent an email from us letting you know it is ready for review
b. Within this email, you will be directed on how to access this package
c. Please note you will only be able to review your package which includes information about your estimated costs and the awards for which you qualify. After your review, if you wish to deposit by May 1st 2022, you can then accept and/or decline your offered aid through your myGeneseo account.

Can I talk to faculty members about the program I was admitted to?

Yes, please do! Faculty from every department are available to answer your questions. Please visit the department website to locate your specific program of interest. What if I have questions about my financial aid package?

Our financial aid staff remains committed to supporting the Class of 2025. The Financial Aid Office will remain open to answer any of your questions. You can reach them at 585-245-5731 or

Will you be hosting any events?

Yes! Register to attend one or many of our upcoming ‘Admitted Knights Days’ to connect with our campus community and learn more about becoming a Geneseo student. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

I was admitted to the major I selected on my application, but I would like to change my mind. Is this possible?

You can absolutely change your mind about your major. When you arrive at Geneseo, you will have the opportunity to work with an academic advisor to schedule your classes and talk about possible career options. When you are ready to formally declare a major, or if you need to switch a major, want to double major, or add a minor, your advisor will be able to help you with this process. 

Will I have a chance to see a residence hall?

Yes! Both our campus tours and Admitted Knights Days events will feature and showcase residence halls. To check them out ahead of time, go here!

I want to attend Geneseo but can't pay the full deposit now. What should I do?

What is the deadline for accepting my offer of admission?

Early Decision I deposit deadline is January 1st, 2022.

When and how do I register for classes?

The Office of Academic Planning & Advising will register you for your first semester of classes at Geneseo. You'll be invited to complete a course registration survey in late spring to be entered into a queue for scheduled construction. Faculty Advisors build your schedule based on your survey responses. Students will have the opportunity to schedule a virtual conference with an advisor over the summer to discuss their schedule and to make needed changes when appropriate. When do classes start?

The current start date for the Fall 2022 semester is Monday, August 29th, 2022.

Will there be an opportunity to attend Orientation?

Yes! Orientation and Weeks of Welcome (WOW) help transition first year and transfer students to the next steps of their academic and life journeys.

Orientation provides opportunities for students to acclimate to campus, make connections, develop pride in Geneseo and establish a foundation for academic success.

Weeks of Welcome is a series of events at the beginning of the semester to welcome our new students and help them get to know the campus and make new friends. Participation in Orientation & WOW activities is one of the best ways to start getting the most out of the Geneseo experience.

Can I double major, or add a minor?

Could you tell me more about your Edgar Fellows Honors Program?

Geneseo’s College Honors Program has enriched the undergraduate education of a select number of especially dedicated and accomplished students. The program seeks to enhance habits of critical thought and expression—skills equally vital to success in one’s career, one’s private life and one’s participation as a citizen in public life.

Our Admissions Office will select a pool of applicants based on a students overall GPA, their academic rigor and we will encourage them to take the next steps to apply into the program.

Important Application and Admissions Dates:

Applications for admission into the Edgar Fellows Program are due on March 15, 2022.

How will I pay my tuition/room/board bill?

Bills are sent by email to students and all authorized payers. Past bills are available online. To learn more, click on the link provided below and the instructions to log in and access billing and account history; follow the “To pay a bill as…” To pay a tuition bill online, you must either be a student or an authorized payer. Accepted forms of payment are Visa, MasterCard, Discover, checking or savings account. To pay a bill online as a student, log into the MyGeneseo portal and choose "Student Account Center." This is also where you go to add an authorized payer to your account, join payment plans, sign up for direct deposit, and see your bills and account history. To pay a bill online as an authorized payer, log into the Student Accounts Center (this is a special link just for authorized payers).

I applied for financial aid. Where can I view my financial aid offer?

Once our Financial Aid Office provides your package, you will be sent an email from us letting you know it is ready for review. Within this email, you will be directed on how to access this package. We will work to get you your financial aid information as quickly as possible.

When do you need the transcript(s) for the college course(s) I took in high school?

You may send transcripts for completed courses to our Geneseo Admissions Office as soon as they are available. Official final transcripts must be sent from each college where you earned the credit.

Do I need to send my final high school transcript?

Yes. A final high school transcript, sent from your high school, will be required following completion of your high school classes. Final high school transcript may be sent to the Geneseo Admissions Office.

Where do I send my AP/IB exam scores to receive credit?

AP scores need to be requested officially from the College Board. The scores are then sent to us electronically. IB scores need to be requested officially from the International Baccalaureate.

How do dining plans work for first-year students?

Our declining balance meal plans allow students to eat from any of our restaurants on campus, including all retail locations and "pay-one-price" restaurants. Unlike other campuses, students are not restricted to certain locations or time periods. They can eat where they want when they want. When students make a purchase from any of the dining locations, the total of the purchase is deducted from the meal plan, similar to a debit card. First-year students can choose between the Price Lock, Gold and Platinum meal plans.
