To earn a BS in Mathematics, in addition to the BA requirements, students should take MATH 330 Abstract Algebra, an 2 additional 300 level MATH electives (6 total), and 6 credits of research in MATH 393 or MATH 398 or other approved research.
To earn a BS in Applied Mathematics, in addition to the BA requirements, students should take MATH 333 Linear Algebra II, MATH 345 Numerical Analysis I, and a total of six 300 level MATH electives from, four of which come from two of the following areas: Probability and Statistics, Analysis, Applied Mathematics, Differential Equations, Discrete Mathematics, and Computing. Students need 120 hours to graduate. 60 hours must be in Liberal Arts and Sciences for the BS, 90 credits must be in Liberal Arts and Sciences for the BA. 69 credits must be outside Mathematics.
