SUNY Geneseo’s School of Business has launched an online master’s in accounting program. The 30-credit program begins this fall with part-time students, then fully launches in Fall 2026 for both part-time and full-time students. It will admit students in both fall and spring semesters.
“The program combines flexibility and accessibility with individualized attention,” says Lerong He, dean of the School of Business. “It’s designed for students interested in pursuing an accounting career but who do not have an undergraduate accounting degree.”
Students will learn course materials at their own pace online and have access to instructors’ weekly virtual office hours to seek feedback and support. Each student will also be assigned a graduate advisor to guide them through the program and provide career counseling. Geneseo's graduate accounting program maintains a 100 percent job placement rate.
The program meets the NYS CPA licensure requirements and will equip students with solid knowledge in financial accounting and reporting, managerial accounting, taxation and regulations, auditing, and accounting information systems. It prepares students for accounting careers in public, corporate, nonprofit, and government environments.
