Three staff members were recently recognized with the second annual Advancing Our Institutional Mission (AIM) awards for their dedication to the college’s mission and for exemplifying the SUNY Geneseo spirit.

The three honorees are:

  • Marissa DioGuardi, Campus Auxiliary Services catering chef. Her nomination included testimonials from students and her involvement with cultural dinners, as well as her commitment to fostering inclusion and belonging within the campus community.
  • Lenny Sancilio, dean of students. In his nomination, members of the SUNY Geneseo community cited initiatives, activities, and engagements with the campus community as a superb example of the award criteria for going “above and beyond." They said Sancilio is student-centered, embodies the spirit of the award, helps students stand up for themselves, and encourages them to solve problems.
  • Jasmine Tang, adjunct lecturer of Chinese. Nominators remarked on her voluntary participation in the first-generation student initiatives, and how her work with the Chinese Cultural Club on campus helps to foster a safe space for students to engage in and learn about this cultural experience.
