Isabella "Bella" Adamo ‘24 is a communication major from Barneveld, NY.

Q: How did you decide on a major?
A: I began my journey at Geneseo as a musical theatre major but realized I had a strong interest in communication. But I stay involved with musical theatre with the Musical Theatre Club.

Q: Why did you choose Geneseo?
A: I wasn’t considering Geneseo when I started looking at colleges. My sister went to St. John Fisher, and I wanted to go there—it felt comfortable. Students at my high school who visited Geneseo always said it was toward the top of their lists, so I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and look at a new place to make memories. I was hooked as soon as I arrived on campus for a tour. I loved the old-time vibe and the ivy growing on the brick buildings. My tour guide was excellent and super helpful. I met some Geneseo students interested in the same things as me. Making connections is one of the best things that can happen for any student, and in this instance, it helped me decide to go to Geneseo. I am incredibly proud to be a Geneseo student and couldn’t imagine being elsewhere. Geneseo is my home away from home!

Q: Is there a faculty or staff member who has had a positive influence on you?
A: Even though I was coming in as a musical theatre major, Professor Herman, communication, was my first-semester schedule advisor.  He helped me not only with that, but went above and beyond with information and helpful tools to guide me in my journey. Among these tools, the most impactful one was the connections that he helped me make. He gave me Geneseo Alumni contact information so that I could reach out to them and start to make connections.
