Opportunities for Applied Learning
The Department of Communication offers students hands-on learning experiences that go beyond the classroom. From contributing to campus media outlets to gaining real-world experience through internships and teaching assistantships, students can sharpen their skills and prepare for their future careers.
Campus Media
Communication students can further develop their skills with a number of on-campus, student-run media, including:
- WGSU-FM, an FCC licensed radio station
- The Lamron, a weekly campus newspaper
- MiNT, the college literary magazine
- LIVE, a magazine that promotes businesses and communities near SUNY Geneseo
Communication Internships

Teaching Assistants
Students are invited to apply to become teaching assistants. Students who move forward in that position will enroll in COMN 496: Teaching Practicum in Communication.
