The 1871 Leadership Society

1871 Leadership Society logoThe 1871 Leadership Society is Geneseo’s annual leadership giving society that recognizes supporters whose financial contributions demonstrate an exceptional level of commitment to the College. Members of Geneseo’s 1871 Leadership Society set an example for all alumni, students, parents, and friends. These benefactors earn a significant place in Geneseo’s history for their dedication and belief in our future and play a critical role in ensuring the College will have a reliable, steady stream of income for years to come.

History

The State University of New York at Geneseo was founded in 1871 and has evolved from a single building affectionately known as "Old Main" into one of the nation's premier public liberal arts colleges. Though Old Main is no longer physically present on the campus, members of The 1871 Leadership Society build upon the foundation of "Old Main" through their leadership giving, enhancing education for generations to follow. Thus, we chose to include "Old Main" in the logo for the society.
