Meet Our Writing Consultants
Griffin Lyons

Griffin (she/her) is a junior English Literature and Sociology double major with a minor in the Edgar Fellows program. She is a part of the Creative Writing Club and enjoys volunteering within the campus community. Griffin believes that writing should be both educational and enjoyable, and she loves helping students express themselves through their writing. She spends most of her free time with her many cats while listening to music.
Nina Avallone-Serra

Nina (she/her) is a junior Comparative Literature major with minors in Linguistics and the Edgar Fellows program from Albany, NY. She is a member of the English honors society Sigma Tau Delta and a cellist in the Geneseo Symphony Orchestra. Aside from music and reading, she enjoys exercising, crocheting, spending time with her cats, and roller skating if the weather is nice! Though of course familiar with the frustrations of writing and editing herself, Nina views this process as an opportunity for an exciting and thoughtful conversation.
Nate D'Amato

Nate (he/him) is a Junior English major with a Creative Writing concentration with minors in Film Studies and Sustainability Studies. He is the President of the Creative Writing Club, the Editor-in-Chief of The Lamron, and a TA for Foundations of Creative Writing! He knows how daunting the writing process can be, and he is here to help guide you and levy—some of—the stress a new project brings through some tips that aided him. When not writing, Nate can be found watching a movie, playing with his cats, drawing, or raiding the nearest bookstore!
Giulyana Gamero

Giulyana (she/her) is a sophomore Communication major from Rockford, Illinois. She directs Sunflower Story Hour, an episodic audio drama, on 89.3 WGSU and enjoys the views walking around campus. Having been a Youth Poet Laureate for her hometown, Giulyana loves sharing her passion for writing with others, even those who may not be as excited about writing! She wholeheartedly believes anyone can improve their writing with an open mind. When she is not crafting a poem or developing a new story, Giulyana loves creating visual art, playing music, and playing her fair share of video games.
Ryan Eck

Ryan Eck (he/him) is a third-year English major concentrated in Creative Writing, a Spanish minor, and a member of the Edgar Fellows program. Ryan is all too familiar with academic writing, including how tiresome it can be, but also how rewarding it can be. Ryan eagerly hopes to give a friendly, supportive hand towards uplifting students as confident writers. Ryan also loves video games, graphic novels, and anime, being the treasurer of Geneseo Esports and overseeing the anime scene at Geneseo Area Gaming Group (GAGG). He also has a cat named Winston, who is a professional businessman.
Tahera Stevens

Tahera is a junior Neuroscience major with a minor in English Literature. She believes an important part of writing is learning to enjoy the process of doing it. As a tutor, she looks forward to helping students feel welcomed in exploring their unique writing styles and developing a method that speaks to their skills. In her free time, she loves putting together building sets and various puzzles. Her current projects involve completing a double sided puzzle and a wooden cello.
Kira Magnus

Kira uses they/them pronouns and is a junior English Adolescence Education major. They are a member of the English Honors Society, Sigma Tau Delta, on campus. Kira was initially raised in Owego NY, but later moved to Ithaca NY, and has lived there for the majority of their life. In their free time, they can be found reading, making art, cooking, and playing guitar. Kira is deeply interested in alternative education, and hopes to find ways for all types of learners and writers toenjoy and meet their goals in writing.
Chloe Girling

Chloe (she/her) is a junior with a major in Biology and a minor in Sociomedical Science. She recently transferred to Geneseo and is excited to get involved in the WLC. Chloe loves the
collaborative process of writing. She enjoys working with clients in a way that suits their unique writing style and accentuates their personal voice. Chloe is a part of the Rock Climbing Club at Geneseo, and she can often be found at Sunrise Bouldering, or at a local music festival.
