Resume Resources

Please review the following resources compiled by the Career Design Center in detail and create or update your resume accordingly.

The Process

  • Use the resources above to create/update your resume in advance of the virtual resume session with Career Design on March 6 or March 22. This will allow you to get the most out of this session and help you take your resume from good to great!

  • Attend a virtual resume session with the Career Design Center via Microsoft Teams on either March 6 or March 22. (See Student Teaching Application Meeting slides for corresponding links.)
    • Please join at the start of the session, have your resume draft open to refer to throughout the session, and be prepared to engage.
    • You must meet with the Career Design Center during one of these sessions with no exceptions. Students who do not attend a session will be required to complete an alternate assignment.
  • Make any edits to your resume based on what you learned during the resume session with Career Design.

  • Submit your draft resume to the Career Design Center by Monday, April 1 via this Google Form.

    • **Please note: Career Design staff have adjusted their schedule taking these dates into account, so if you submit your draft resume beyond the deadline, they will have less time to spend with your document for feedback and this will ultimately impact the final quality of your document.
  • The Career Design Center will review resume drafts to ensure they meet guidelines and will email with next steps between Monday, April 1 and Wednesday, May 1.

  • Make any final edits to your resume before submitting your final version to the School of Education by Friday, May 17.

  • Should you have questions throughout the process of preparing and finalizing your resume please reach out to Heather Morens (morens@geneseo.edu) or contact the Career Design Center at careers@geneseo.edu.

Note

  • If it is apparent that you have not used the resources shared by The Career Design Center to create/update your resume you will be emailed (copying in Jennifer Sam, Director of Field Experiences in the School of Education) and required to revise and resubmit.

  • If final submitted resume is still in need of updates, School of Education staff can request that you schedule another appointment with The Career Design Center.
