New York State Tuition Assistance Program (NYS TAP)

Overview of the Tuition Assistance Program

Geneseo's School Code - 0920 Undergrad (SUC Geneseo)

The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) provides need-based grants to help eligible New York State residents meet tuition expenses at in-state public and private colleges. Awards range start at $500 per year and range up to full tuition or $5,000, whichever is less. Your award amount will depend on your parents' and your New York State net taxable income. The deadline for applying for TAP is May 1 of the academic year you are seeking aid.

HESC's website - http://www.hesc.ny.gov - is filled with information about TAP - eligibility requirements, application procedures, getting TAP estimates, and checking your award on-line. They also offer information on college and career planning and other state grants.

New York State Dream Act

The NYS Dream Act gives undocumented and other students access to NYS administered grants and scholarships. For more information or to apply, go to NYS Higher Education Services Corporation.
