The need for food assistance has increased due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. Below are a few food assistance resources in our area that may be beneficial to members of the SUNY Geneseo community.
The Knights Harvest Pantry is the on-campus food pantry that also offers personal hygiene products to SUNY Geneseo students at no cost. Their mission is “to ensure all students have access to basic food and hygiene essentials, with no questions asked.” Part of the college’s Student Volunteerism and Community Engagement efforts, the pantry prioritizes anonymity and strives to remove the stigma around food insecurity.
If you are interested in donating, please consider making monetary donations to SUNY Geneseo’s Knights Harvest Pantry via the One Knight Fund or make a food donation to one of the local food pantries. Geneseo's Multicultural Center will be accepting food donations throughout the month of November to support the ongoing efforts of the Geneseo–Groveland Emergency Food Pantry. Please drop off any canned goods, rice, cooking oils, condiments, pasta, and other shelf stable foods at the Multicultural Center on campus in Blake Hall.
