The Department of Student Health and Counseling will open the new South Village Health Center in Onondaga Hall in Fall 2019. The center will provide easier accessibility to the students, primarily first-years, who reside on the south side of campus. It will complement the main Lauderdale Center for Student Health and Counseling, offering individualized primary and medical health care, reproductive health services, and a campus community resource nurse.

The Advancing Cultural Competency Certificate (ACCC) successfully completed its pilot initiative and will launch campus-wide in Fall 2019 as an opt-in program open to all SUNY Geneseo and Campus Auxiliary Services employees.

SUNY Geneseo’s Together Program has straightforward aspirations: to build a cross-cultural bridge between Geneseo undergraduate students and the region’s Spanish-speaking community.

Three SUNY Geneseo seniors have received Chancellor’s Awards for Student Excellence: Patrick Buckley from Elmira, NY; Elena Kleinhenz from Delmar, NY; and Emily Janiszewski from Hamburg, NY.

Students are preparing their projects for presentation during GREAT Day on April 17 (Geneseo Recognizing Excellence, Achievement & Talent). This is the 13th year of the annual event, a college-wide symposium celebrating the creative and scholarly endeavors of Geneseo students.

The SUNY Geneseo Department of Music’s Musical Theatre Program’s latest production, Pippin, runs next week, April 10–13, at 7:30 p.m., with an additional matinee performance at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 14. All performances are in the Alice Austin Theater on Geneseo’s campus.

Geneseo’s Career Design Center has earned a Diversity and Inclusion Focus award from the SUNY Career Development Organization (CDO) for its Encore Career Closet, a service that assists students who need professional attire for career-related occasions. Winners will be honored at the annual SUNY CDO conference June 12–14 in Java Center, NY.

The State University of New York at Geneseo has invited 92 students into the College’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa this spring, prompted by their recent election by the College’s faculty. Phi Beta Kappa is the nation’s oldest and most widely known academic honor society.
