Securing Funding for SUNY Geneseo's Projects and Programs

The Office of Government and Community Relations plays a crucial role in securing funding to support SUNY Geneseo's projects and programs. Since 2019, we have facilitated numerous projects in categories that include facilities, security, academic programming, IT, campus auxiliary services (CAS), economic development, and student success.

Recent examples include:

  • State University Construction Fund (SUCF): $111.6 million received for projects including Milne Library and Sturges Hall renovations.
  • Pending SUCF Funding: $64 million for ongoing and future projects.
  • State and Federal Funding: $13 million secured from sources such as CAS, PPP, HEERF, NYSERDA, and NYF.

Total 2024/25 funding requests submitted: $6.75 million

  • FEMA: $1 million
  • Earmarks: $4.5 million
  • DOJ: $250,000
  • CFA: $1 million

SUNY Geneseo First Responders

SUNY Geneseo’s University Police Department (UPD), through the Office of Finance and Business Development, recently received a $250,000 Bureau of Justice Assistance grant for Crisis Response and Intervention Training (CRIT). This funding will support training programs to improve police and first-responder preparedness, enhancing responses to individuals in crisis with physical or behavioral health conditions, or intellectual and developmental disabilities.
