Student Transporation FAQs
No! Many students on campus do not have a vehicle. Many shops, restaurants and banks are within easy walking distance from campus. In addition there the RTS Livingston Bus Service, which is free to ride with student ID, operates a local daily fixed route that includes the bigger stores (WalMart, Wegmans, etc), a Geneseo-Rochester weekend route (Eastview & Marketplace Malls, the Public Market, Memorial Art Gallery, RIT, etc), an Express Shopper local route to help expediate shopping needs, and the Late Knight Express for local late night transportation on weekends.
It is a service that is contracted by SUNY Geneseo and supported by your student transportation fee. The service is operated by RTS Livingston (Regional Transit Service). It is free to ride with student ID, and also open to the public for a nominal fee.

There are a couple of other options in getting to the Greater Rochester International Airport, Trailways Bus Terminal, or Amtrak Station. Taxis and car services are always an option. Be sure to get a quote on the final price and what payment methods are accepted before agreeing to anything. Rochester is about 35 miles North of Geneseo and prices vary between $60.00 and $150.00 one way.
Trailways and OurBus have regular routes that stop in Geneseo.
