Virtual Volunteering

Explore Virtual Volunteering: Flexible, Impactful, and Innovative

Virtual Volunteering is an exciting new pilot program developed by Student Volunteerism and Community Engagement at SUNY Geneseo. This initiative allows students to support community organizations remotely while delivering the same dedication and results as traditional in-person volunteering.

Designed to fit seamlessly into a student’s schedule, virtual volunteering offers greater flexibility while maintaining the impact of meaningful service.

How Virtual Volunteering Works

Students can complete tasks remotely, either from their own laptops or by utilizing campus resources like the library. Examples of virtual projects include:

  • Digitally preserving historical documents
  • Indexing vital records and documents
  • Assisting with administrative or creative tasks that benefit community organizations

For Community Organizations

If your organization is a federally tax-exempt 501(c)(3) and has projects suitable for virtual volunteering, we’d love to collaborate!
