Live Interactive Performance: Puerto Rican Bomba
There will be a live Puerto Rican Bomba interactive performance by the Geneseo Valley Conjunto lead by Keaton Rood. The crowd is encouraged to participate!
Puerto Rican bomba emerged in the 17th century as enslaved West Africans living and working on coastal sugar plantations developed a unique form of musical and cultural expression. Combining music and dance, bomba is recognized as the oldest indigenous Afro-Puerto Rican musical tradition on the island.
