Optometry 3+4 Program

Why study optometry at Geneseo?

The 3+4 optometry program is an accelerated partnership program with SUNY College of Optometry, which allows students to earn an OD degree in seven years, rather than the typical eight. After three years of study as a biology major at Geneseo, students transfer to SUNY Optometry for the final four years. After one year at SUNY Optometry, Geneseo awards a BS in biology; after four years, SUNY Optometry awards an OD. The 3+4 program is a rigorous course of study to which you apply as a high school senior or as a SUNY Geneseo rising sophomore.
