College Circle Infrastructure Project

The estimated $10 million improvement project will provide a needed modernization of the infrastructure for that portion of the campus and includes new storm and sanitary sewers, domestic water supply, network infrastructure, and surface lighting. College Circle between Welles and Brodie Halls has not been upgraded in nearly 60 years.  In addition to the subsurface work, the project will result in broader driving lanes, enhanced crosswalks, expanded sidewalks, new retaining walls, benches, improved landscaping, and a new college directory. This project is currently in construction and is expected to be completed in early Fall 2024.

UPDATE - Beginning on Monday, May 20th, the closure of College Drive will be extended further west from the College Circle to the Saratoga Terrace Townhouses. The extended closure of College Drive will also cause the closure of parking lots Z, B and BB. The service area for both Welles Hall and South Hall will also be closed during the construction. Main building entrances to South Hall and Welles Hall will remain open.

This initiative supports the essential infrastructure repairs such as the installation of new water lines and fire hydrants, new crosswalks featuring flashing lights for enhanced safety, improved lighting infrastructure, and the resurfacing of the asphalt roadway.

In light of these parking lot closures, employees may utilize parking lots T, TT, and L. As a reminder the College has a Flexible Work Schedule Program for the Summer Employees should consider utilizing this program, where possible, given changes to on campus parking for the summer months.

The construction teams will work throughout the summer. The anticipated completion is expected to be right before the start of the Fall 2024 semester. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this period of enhancement and renewal.
