Geneseo’s successful enhanced intersession term is expanded this year with additional offerings of online and study abroad courses for winter break. The term, which runs December 30, 2019–January 21, 2020, allows students to earn credits in the interval between fall and spring terms.

Students can use the intersession term to accelerate their academic progress or maintain their program eligibility in the Excelsior Scholarship. They can also earn course credits directly from Geneseo—they don’t need to search for equivalent courses at other institutions or request approval to transfer credits. Classes are available to fulfill both major and general education requirements.

Last year’s first enhanced intersession term was successful, with 92 percent of the available seats/spaces of the 18 courses offered online and almost 90 percent of the five study abroad and study away sections filled before classes began.

Students can register for intersession at their spring pre-registration time slot; open registration for all students begins November 11. Those interested in taking an online course or study abroad experience should visit the Course Schedule for more information. Intersession courses will be available soon on Open SUNY as well.
