Campus Photographer Lands Three Awards in 2015 UPAA Competition

SUNY Geneseo campus photographer Keith Walters, a 2011 graduate of the college, has landed three awards in the 2015 University Photographers Association of America (UPAA) national competition.

His image titled “Moonrise” took first place in the Personal Vision category. He won third place in the the News and Campus Life category for “Chile,” taken as he accompanied geology students and faculty on a field trip to that country. He also earned an Honorable Mention for “Slip and Slide” in the News and Campus Life category. The awards are given in each category for the best use of photography in university or college publications.

“It’s a great honor to have my work recognized by this organization and I was pleased to receive these awards,” said Walters. “Documenting the life of my alma mater is a dream come true that I enjoy doing every day and look forward to capturing more memorable images for others to enjoy.”

The UPAA is an international organization of college and university photographers concerned with the application and practice of photography as it related to the higher education setting.
