Geneseo has a week of events planned in celebration of Earth Day on April 22.

The Office of Sustainability and members from more than five student organizations, including the Green Environmental Org (GEO), Genny Thrift, eGarden committee, compost committee, and Plastic Free Zone are spearheading activities.

On Monday, April 17, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., GEO will host Earth Fest on the Union patio, with live performances from student groups, food by local business Cosmic Charlie Cafe, and tabling by sustainability-focused clubs and organizations.

The Sustainability Union Takeover is Thursday, April 20, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in several locations in the Union. Genny Thrift will host a Pop-Up in CUPS, clubs and organizations will share information in the lobby, and a garden plant show will be on display on the patio.

"There is so much energy toward sustainability from students, faculty, and staff year-round at our College,” says Lauren Goulet ’22, Geneseo’s sustainability fellow. “We work together to make Earth Week a fun and highly visible time for our ongoing initiatives and sustainable practices, to bring our Geneseo community together and encourage action."
