SUNY’s Advancing Completion through Engagement (ACE) helps students earn their bachelor’s degree in two years (transfer) or four years (first-years) with intensive support, including academic advising, career counseling, and financial assistance for tuition, textbooks, and transportation.

(up to $550 per year for eligible Pell recipients)
to help cover non-tuition expenses.

Textbook Assistance (up to $150 per semester) and monthly stipends for transportation, groceries, and essentials (up to $200 per semester).


Am I Eligible?

Transfer Students
  • Be Pell eligible and receive at least $1 of Pell aid at point of enrollment (students in the process of completing financial aid may be conditionally accepted into the program)
  • Be an incoming transfer student with an earned associate degree. Students with associate degrees from non-SUNY/CUNY schools are welcome to apply and will be reviewed for eligibility.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen (NYS DREAM Act students also eligible).
  • Be eligible for in-state tuition.
  • Enroll full-time each semester in an ACE-approved degree program (minimum 30 credits per academic year).
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program application.
  • Commit to the completion of an eligible major within two years.
  • All majors are currently eligible, however, eligibility for specific majors may be impacted if you have not completed prerequisite coursework at your prior college.
  • Transfers must be able to complete their Geneseo requirements within 60 credits to be eligible.
  • Adhere to all ACE program requirements.
First-Year Students
  • Be Pell eligible and receive at least $1 of Pell aid at point of enrollment (students in the process of completing financial aid may be conditionally accepted into the program).
  • Be a newly accepted freshman student.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen (NYS DREAM Act students also eligible).
  • Be eligible for in-state tuition.
  • Enroll full-time each semester in an ACE-approved degree program (minimum 30 credits per academic year).
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program application.
  • Commit to the completion of an eligible major within four years. Currently, all majors are eligible, however, students must be able to realistically complete the degree within the four-year time frame.
  • Adhere to all ACE program requirements.
