Music for Everyone!
The Music Program at Geneseo provides all students, regardless of their major or field of study, with opportunities to explore music courses and performance opportunities in a variety of musical styles and genres. Our course offerings range from music theory to music recording and production, from composition to criticism, and from chamber music to history of rock. All students on campus are welcome to participate in our many instrumental and choral ensembles and we host over 40 concerts and events each year. If you are an aspiring performer or scholar, or want to play in a jazz combo os sing in a choir, or just looking to hear a great concert, we invite you to explore the music program at Geneseo.
We offer a full range of programs including a Music BA, minors, and certificates. Students can study performance, history, recording and more!
As part of our commitment to accessibility, all entering music students are automatically considered for renewable, partial-tuition department scholarships.
Individualized study is at the heart of what we do. Music majors receive free private lessons with experienced faculty and coaching with a collaborative pianist.
