Assistant professor of geological sciences Nicholas Warner, along with several of his students, has won the 2020 NASA Honor Group Achievement Award for their role in helping to place instruments on a planetary surface robotically, the first time this has been done in the history of planetary exploration. The award was given to members of the Instrument Site Selection Working Group, for which Warner was the geology lead.
