Environmental Health and Safety

The Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) at SUNY Geneseo is dedicated to promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible campus for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Our mission encompasses a broad range of responsibilities—from chemical waste management and fluorescent light bulb recycling to fire safety and compliance with building and fire codes. We provide guidance, training, and support to ensure that campus activities and operations meet legal requirements and best practices.

Through proactive risk management, emergency preparedness, and collaboration with campus departments, EHS works to prevent incidents, protect public health, and maintain safe facilities. Our commitment is to foster a culture of safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance that supports SUNY Geneseo’s educational mission.

Internal forms and resources can be accessed on the Environmental Health and Safety site in KnightNet (Geneseo’s intranet).

The Safety and Risk Reporting Form is publicly available.
