Brooks Hawley was hired as the Intramural Director in the Fall of 2001. A graduate of SUNY Brockport, he earned both his Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management and his Master’s degree in Recreation Administration. During his undergraduate time at Brockport, Hawley gained experience in Campus Recreation, working as an Intramural Referee and Building Manager before serving as a Graduate Assistant for the department while completing his degree.
At Geneseo, Brooks oversees the organization and management of intramural leagues, tournaments, and Upstate Escape trips. He also supervises the Building Managers for both the Merritt Athletic Center and the Schrader Building. In addition to serving as the overall advisor for Club Sports, he coordinates facility scheduling for practices, games, and tournaments held in the gym and at the College Stadium.
Brooks is an active member of several divisional committees, including the Student Health Advisory Committee and the New Organization Review Committee.
Outside of work, he enjoys golfing in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. He and his wife, Rhiannon, live in Batavia, N.Y., with their three children—Ayla, Troy, and Quinn.

Caitlyn Cook
Building Manager Student Supervisor / Intramural Assistant
Caitlyn Cook was hired in fall 2025 and serves as the Intramurals Assistant at SUNY Geneseo, and took over Building Manager Student Supervisor in 2026. She is a member of the Class of 2028 and a Communications major with a minor in Marketing and a focus in Journalism and Media. Caitlyn assists with the behind-the-scenes organization and operation of intramural leagues, games, and events, helping ensure that participants have a positive and engaging recreational experience on campus.
In addition to working with Campus Recreation, Caitlyn is a member of Alpha Kappa Phi and is currently completing an internship in Athletic Communications and Media Relations. Through this internship, she is gaining experience in sports media, videography, photography, communications, and promoting SUNY Geneseo’s athletic programs.
Caitlyn grew up very involved in participating in and attending sporting events, which inspired her interest in pursuing a career in sports. After graduating, she hopes to work in sports media, with a focus on athletic communications and media relations.

Jacob Schiesser
Intramural Assistant Student Supervisor
Jacob is a senior at SUNY Geneseo, majoring in accounting and minoring in marketing. He began working for the intramural department in the spring of 2024, and was hired as the intramural student supervisor in the fall of 2025.
He plans on graduating in the spring of 2027. Within the intramural department, Jacob supervises student employees and oversees games as they are played, ensuring a fair and positive experience for participants. He also handles administrative and rescheduling duties.
Living in Buffalo, NY, Jacob is an avid Bills fan, and enjoys watching sports in his free time with friends and family. At Geneseo, Jacob is heavily involved in the school of business as an active member of the SMIF club, VITA program, and Accounting Society. He plans on pursuing a career in public accounting in his future.
Joselyn Montes
Intramural Assistant
Joselyn Montes is a student in the Class of 2030, majoring in psychology. She was hired Fall of 2026 as an Intramural Assistant. Throughout her time in high school, she was involved in many AP and college credit courses in hopes to prepare her for her time at SUNY Geneseo.
Joselyn is from Geneva, NY on Seneca Lake. In her hometown she’s involved in community organizations, volunteering, and working with children in hopes of giving her a good background to work with children in psychology.
Alexa Harrington
Recreation and Intramural Department Intern
Alexa Harrington is a junior at the State University of New York at Geneseo, majoring in Accounting with a minor in Finance. She joined the Intramural Department in the fall of 2026 as an intern.Outside of Campus Recreation, Alexa is an active member of Sigma Delta tau, where she previous severed as Public Relations Chair, and currently serves as Assistant to Finance Chair. Alexa played soccer throughout high school, which helped her develop interest in athletics and recreation.
