Resources from the Office of Academic Planning and Advising

Academic Peer Mentors

Academic Peer Mentors are advanced students from a variety of majors who support fellow students to develop (or further develop) their academic skills. Mentors are available on a walk-in basis to work on developing more effective study skills, time management strategies, exam preparation techniques, and figuring out how to get the most out of office hours, tutoring, and other resources. For hours and more information about the mentors, visit: https://www.geneseo.edu/dean_office/academic-peer-mentors-0

Advising Circles

Academic Peer Mentors run weekly meetings (open to all students) about various advising topics--for instance, how to understand DegreeWorks, study effectively, develop a Growth Mindset, and manage time and tasks more efficiently. Advising Circles meet Monday nights from 7-8pm in Bailey 105.

GOLD Workshops:  Onyx Series

Academic success workshops offered throughout the semester on a variety of topics. Please view this flyer for information about the workshops, and visit the GOLD webpage to register.
