It is $103.95 through Pearson at http://www.mypearsonstore.com/bookstore/mylab-math-online-course-for-a-…. If you make the purchase elsewhere, do NOT buy used since the access codes cannot be reused and are not transferable. This access code, in addition to an e-text, will be used for our online homework assignments and give you access to e-manipulatives and an array of videos. I will email to give you directions about how to register your access code so that it is integrated with our Canvas course. If you are going to want a physical copy of the text and not just the e-text that the MyLab Math access will give you, please email me (sutherm@geneseo.edu) and I'll explain how you can purchase a loose-leaf copy of the text (called an a la Carte Edition). I would suggest a three-ring binder for notes and handouts. You should also have scissors, a stapler, and colored pencils. Any calculator (even non-graphing) is fine.

Software/Calculator:TI-Nspire CAS CX or TI-Nspire CAS (make sure it says CAS) or TI-89 Titanium
Notes :I prefer the TI-Nspire CAS CX over the TI-89 Titanium. It has more capabilities and if you are purchasing new it is roughly the same price and comes with software for use on your computer. Make sure the TI-Nspire says CAS CX on it. If it just says TI-Nspire CX, it will not work for the course since it will not have the computer algebra system (CAS). The TI-89 also has a built in computer algebra system. Your TI-83/84 does NOT have CAS abilities. If you have questions, email me.

Software/Calculator:You must have a calculate that will row-reduce matrices and solve for roots of polynomials. We support the TI-89 and the TI-Nspire (CAS version only). You might be able to get away with a TI-84, but if you are purchasing a calculator it should be one of the supported ones. You will have to figure out how to use the TI-84 on your own.
Notes :You might also wish to purchase a hard copy. Since the book has been around for awhile, you can probably get a good deal on one (between $20-$100, shop around), but having a hard copy is not required.
