October is Sustainability Month at the college and campus community members are hosting more than a dozen lectures, workshops and hands-on events that raise awareness, spark discussion and promote personal involvement.

The President’s Sustainability Lecture kicks things off on Oct. 5, when Cornell University Professor Tony Ingraffea presents “Can New York State Transition to Renewable Energy Soon Enough?”

During the month students will host a Walk for Water event to raise money for those in developing areas to have improved access to clean water, there’s a vegan cooking workshop, and on Oct. 12 professor David Hursh will discuss curriculums that promote sustainability.

Cultural Harmony Week activities also coincide with Geneseo’s mission of sustainability.
