AOP Students: Next Steps After Your Deposit

Welcome to Geneseo! Now that you've secured your place for the fall term, it's time to submit all documentation regarding the student code of conduct, health services, orientation and housing. We also invite you to join your class Facebook group and connect with other students who will be enrolling at Geneseo!

Student Code of Conduct

The State University of New York mandates that each student who attends a suny college positively affirm that they will abide by their campus's Student Code of Conduct prior to attending that school. As such, each student must review and affirm Geneseo's Student Code of Conduct before attending Geneseo. The affirmation can be completed by visiting knightweb.geneseo.edu.  Sign in to the secure area using your Geneseo G number and PIN to complete the Code of Conduct. The affirmation page should be displayed automatically.  If not, click on "Student Menu" and then click on the "Student Code of Conduct" menu item to read and review the Code, and complete the affirmation.

Health Services

All new and transfer students registered for 6 or more credits are required to submit complete immunization and physical exam records prior to arriving on campus.  Specifically, proof of vaccination against measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) (two doses, the first after the students 1st birthday and the second more than 28 days later) and meningococcal meningitis (at least one dose or a signed waiver) are required.

Failure to fulfill these requirements may jeopardize your ability to register for courses or attend classes and in some cases may lead to your dismissal from the College.  Uploading this information is easy: visit myhealth.geneseo.edu, click on the Forms link on the left, then read, acknowledge and/or complete the following:

  • New York State Required Offer for HIV Testing
  • Consent for Treatment
  • Participate in NYSIIS (applicable >19 years)
  • Health History Online Form
  • Consent for Medical Treatment of a Minor* (*Print, complete and submit only if you will be under the age of 18 when you arrive at Geneseo.)
  • High Risk Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire
  • New York State Mandated Immunization Requirements (You must submit proof of these immunizations before arriving on campus)
    • MMR-Dose 1 immunization form
    • MMR-Dose 2 immunization form
    • Meningococcal or Meningococcal Waiver online form
  • All other immunizations from within the last year, Transfer students within 2 years
  • Insurance Information
  • Potential Varsity Athletes are required to submit a physical performed within the last 6 months. Additional information to be completed at Sports Medicine.

AOP Summer Orientation Program

During the four week summer orientation session held virtually from July 6, 2020 - July 29, 2020 you will learn about campus life as well as learn about the academic expectations of this learning community. You will also meet individually with an AOP advisor to register for fall classes.

This summer program is designed to help you make a successful transition into the college community. AOP and other college personnel will be on hand to guide you through a variety of academic and social experiences and activities, some of which will be integrated with the College's General Orientation. By the end of the summer program, you will:

  1. Be registered for the fall;
  2. Have a good introduction to AOP and to college life and services at Geneseo;
  3. Know other members of the Class of 2021;
  4. Gain confidence about starting college in the fall.

Housing

On behalf of the Department of Student Life, welcome to SUNY Geneseo! Your next step is letting us know your housing preferences for Fall 2017 by completing a housing agreement known as the “Roommate Preference Form.” This form is generated in our housing software, Symplicity Residence, 24 business hours after you pay your deposit. To sign on to the housing page, use your Geneseo username and password (your gmail ID), which were sent to you by the Admissions office after you paid your deposit.

Housing selection for new students at Geneseo includes all-first-year housing, transfer blocks, corridor, suite, and specialized communities, such as Tesla House, Dante House, the MIG (Medical Interest Group), Writers House, EcoHouse, and the Nassau Arts Community. If you want to be considered for EcoHouse, Writers House, or Tesla House, you will need to complete the special interest application questions on your Roommate Preference Form. This application is located on your Symplicity home screen. We honor as many requests as possible, but our residence halls all have limited places.

Roommate Preference Forms (RPFs) are due no later than June 1, 2017. Some requests for specialty housing have earlier deadlines, so please fill out your RPF as soon as possible. When you complete the RPF, you will be prompted to read our Residential License at Go.geneseo.edu/ResidentialLicense. All residential students are responsible for the rules and policies contained in the license, whether or not you submit the agreement on the RPF. Housing agreements are for the full academic year, although you will be billed separately for each semester. You will still receive housing if you do not complete your housing agreement, but our system won’t have information to match you with a roommate who shares your habits and preferences. We assign incoming students to housing in deposit date order and availability of space on campus.

You will be able to learn your housing assignment through your account on Symplicity Residence during the last week in July.

Laptop Requirement

Students with Disabilities
